2026 Event Sponsorship Opportunities

In 2026 Better Kenmore Community Development Corporation will host a total of 6 placemaking events that include 3 summer First Fridays, BOO on The BLVD and Light The BLVD. This year we will turn last year’s BLVD Block Party into an annual kick-off tradition for the first Saturday in June.

These events bring about 5,500 visitors with a promotional and advertising reach to over 100,000 impressions via radio, print media, signage, website and social media.

Why do we host these events? To transform underutilized spaces into vibrant, engaging hubs, fostering community connection, economic growth and a stronger sense of place and ownership among residents.

2025 Event Sponsorship Opportunities

In 2025, Better Kenmore Community Development Corporation will continue the tradition of hosting four summer First Fridays, BOO on the Boulevard, and Light The BLVD.

This year, the event series will be enhanced to celebrate the City of Akron’s Bicentennial. It will be all day on the first Saturday in June with day-long performances and special activities. Usual attendance at these events has been about 5,500 visitors with promotional and advertising reach to over 100,000 people via radio, print media, physical signage, and social media. With the Bicentennial, these numbers are expected to be record-breaking! Exclusive benefits for this once-in-a lifetime event will only be available at the Cardinal Red & Black Sponsorship level.
