PLAN

Thanks to all those who attended our Kenmore Neighborhood Vision Plan Open House on
Sept. 22. For those who could not attend, PDFs of the plan documents are available below.

WHY THIS PLAN

Kenmore has been designated as a priority community for city planning, and our neighborhood leaders are eager to work with the city to ensure a common vision that also aligns with the neighborhood’s wants and needs. Better Kenmore CDC has employed neighborhood planning expertise of MKSK to help create a neighborhood plan to leverage funding sources and create improvement over both the short and long term.

PROJECT ROLES

Under the leadership of Better Kenmore CDC, MKSK will collaborate with KM Date
Community Planning (retail market analysis) and The City of Akron Planning and Urban Development Department (neighborhood data, analysis and opportunities).

The City of Akron will look at the neighborhood as a whole, whereas MKSK will concentrate on Kenmore Boulevard and immediate surrounding areas, including its connection to the Towpath Trail. At the same time, KM Date will inform this process with a retail market analysis. With the collaboration between organizations, the resulting neighborhood plan will take a holistic look at Kenmore.
