With Summit Academy Steel Drum Army

Celebrate the holidays Caribbean style. Enjoy refreshments, a craft, and steel drums at 4 pm. After the library closes at 6 pm, enjoy the festivities at Kenmore’s “Light the Boulevard.”

Join us for a holiday party with Caribbean flair! Enjoy refreshments, games, a craft, and live music from the Summit Academy Akron Secondary High School Steel Drum Army.

The Steel Drum Army, directed by Melanie Reymond, will have you clapping and smiling. This ensemble showcases students in grades 9–12 with learning disabilities, autism, and other challenges. Summit Academy provides a supportive environment where students learn and grow through creative expression. Reymond teaches steel drums and multi-percussion as a way for students to channel their emotions through a range of music, from island socas to pop hits.

After the concert, stay on Kenmore Boulevard for the Light the Boulevard celebration!
