 Grow Akron presents a summer cooking demonstration hosted by Kenmore Branc
 h Library. Zoom participation with a local chef. Food kits are available f
 or the first ten registrants.\n\n\n\nRegister online\, in person\, or by p
 hone at 330.745.6126.\n\nThis program\, with a local chef\, will be presen
 ted online in Zoom.\n\nIn this ongoing series\, local chefs will prepare a
  budget-friendly\, seasonal dish with fresh produce available at the Summi
 t Lake Neighborhood Farmers' Market and/or Let's Grow Akron Community Farm
  Market. Details about these markets will be shared at each session and fo
 und on Let's Grow Akron's website: www.letsgrowakron.org.\n\nFree food kit
 s\, including the ingredients needed to prepare the seasonal dish\, will b
 e available for pick up at the Kenmore Branch Library for the first ten pe
 ople to register.\n\nThe theme for this series of classes is local\, seaso
 nal eating. The benefits of cooking and eating produce grown locally and h
 arvested in season will be emphasized. Seasonal produce is more readily av
 ailable and is\, therefore\, more affordable at grocery stores or farmers'
  markets. Local produce is harvested closer to ripeness and travels a shor
 ter distance from the farm to the grocery store\, retaining more nutrients
  and reducing environmental impact. Purchasing from local growers and prod
 ucers stimulates and strengthens the local economy. Seasonal produce grown
  and harvested locally has the best flavor!\n\nEach class will include a 3
 0-minute cooking demonstration plus 15 minutes for Q&A and 15 minutes to r
 eceive information about Let's Grow Akron Community Farm Market\, Summit L
 ake Neighborhood Farmers' Market\, and local farmers' market nutrition inc
 entive programs.
