 aker\, combines elements of neo soul\, funk and R&B into a sound tapestry 
 that brings out infectious grooves and danceable rhythms to get you up out
  your seat. Pianist Liam Speaks\, saxophonist Alex Lati-Thiam\, guitarist 
 Ayden Cohen and Stix all met through the Tri-C Jazzfest Academy program\, 
 an experience bringing amazing opportunities like insight from legends suc
 h as Christian McBride and Terence Blanchard. All brought together by Ever
 ett “Guitarslim” Clark’s adventurous basslines\, the Stix Quintet is
  a fresh\, groove-oriented take on jazz and funk. \n\nThe Tri-C JazzFest A
 cademy\n\nBio for The Tri c Jazzfest Academy Spirit of the groove band :\n
 \nThe Tri-C JazzFest Academy offers performance-based programs for student
 s ages 8 to 18 at every stage of their musical development. We believe tha
 t access to the rich musical culture of jazz and improvisation develops cr
 eativity\, discipline\, teamwork\, empathy\, lifelong curiosity and learni
 ng. The academy's ensembles have been featured at the Next Gen Stage at Pl
 ayhouse Square\, in New York City at Jazz at Lincoln Center and throughout
  the Cleveland area.\n\nThe academy is led by internationally acclaimed mu
 sician and educator Dominick Farinacci\, a former Tri-C student and gradua
 te of The Juilliard School\, as well as a faculty of noted artists and edu
 cators. The Tri-C JazzFest Academy and Summer Camp make up the educational
  division of Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland\, presented by KeyBank\, one of Amer
 ica's premier educational jazz festivals that provides unprecedented acces
 s to master classes and clinics led by the world's most celebrated jazz ar
